Networksolutions / NSI / Internic Domain Transfer Instructions

To transfer your domain name to our servers without having access to the email address listed as the administrative contact for your domain name:

  1. Go to The Automated Network Solutions Modification Form.
  2. Enter your CURRENT email address and your domain name, click proceed.
  3. Your current domain name record will be pulled up.
    1. Scroll down to the Contact Information section and change the Technical Assigned NIC handle to: ABE873
    2. Provide new information for "Administrative Contact/Agent:" information. This is important since you want to update the email address that is associated with this contact.
    3. Scroll down to the Name Server Information section and replace the information currently there our server information (see table below).
    4. Then scroll down to the bottom and press the button 'SUBMIT THIS FORM FOR PROCESSING.'

The completed template will then be e-mailed to you at the e-mail address you provided in Step 1. You must reply to the e-mail and simply send it back to Network Solutions for processing.

You will then receive another email from Network Solutions and you will need reply with the form to hostmaster@networksolutions.com .

You will then receive another email stating as follows:

"We have received your request to modify the domain name
record listed above. However, we are unable to process it at
this time because we cannot verify its authenticity.

There are two ways we can process your request

1) We've sent a message to the administrative and technical
contacts for this domain name, and asked them to approve or
disapprove of the change you requested. You can wait for them
to answer our e-mail (we'll follow the first set of instructions
we receive).

OR

2) You can ask the Registrant for this domain name to send a
fax, showing the tracking number in the subject line of this
e-mail, approving the request you've sent us. The fax must
follow certain guidelines. Read those guidelines and
find a wizard for completing the fax at
http://www.netsol.com/en_US/makechanges/fax/domform.html "

You will usually have to follow step 2 in order to process your transfer.

Follow the steps provided for the fax authorization form and fax your completed form to (703) 742-9552. Do not forget to print out the fax on your companies letterhead and make sure to include an official photo id of the domain owner.

Your contact and domain information should be updated within 1-3 days by Networksolutions. It will take an additional 1-5 days for these changes to propagate throughout the Internet.
